Many times in the job market we encounter job posts merging these two jobs. Web Designer on one hand and Web Developer in the other. They look the same, even for some people they sound the same but there is a great difference in the everyday work approach and other parts of the brain need to mobilized. Web Designer is clearly focused on aesthetics and does basic logic programming and this is Front-end. How the forms look, where the content must be placed and such. The Web Developer is responsible for the data, the real treasure underneath the beautiful layout, and for the system’s architecture in general. At some cases Web Developments are involved in Dev Ops and collaborate closely with Systems Administrators.
This image explains very well this concept and I wonder how we as professionals can educate the market to value the diversity and respect each roles philosophy.
